Koster is Grateful for Jokowi – Ma’aruf Amin Victory

The Governor of Bali Wayan Koster officially congratulated President Joko Widodo for his victory in the 2019 Presidential Election. "I am as a person, as Governor of Bali, and representing all Balinese people, hereby congratulating Mr. Joko Widodo and KH. Ma'aruf Amin for the pair's victory in the recent presidential election, "he said, Tuesday (May 21, 2019).
The victory of the Jokowi-Ma'aruf Amin pair was determined by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Tuesday morning. Jokowi-Ma'aruf Amin won 55.50 percent of the total national legitimate votes while its competitors, the pair Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, only won 44.50 percent of the vote.
Thus it is certain that Jokowi will return to lead Indonesia for the next five years. "We are grateful, thank you and thank you for the victory of Mr. Jokowi, and all Balinese people pray that Mr. Jokowi and his family will always be blessed with health and safety so that they can bring this nation and country forward," Koster said.
The Jokowi-Ma'aruf Amin pair excelled in 21 provinces, including Bali, the region which recorded a fantastic victory of 91.68 percent and 82 percent voter turnout. This percentage is the highest in Indonesia and shows how solid the support of the Balinese people.
"Mr. President expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support of the Balinese people," Koster added.
Koster, who is also the Chair man of the DPD PDI Perjuangan Bali, revealed how happy Jokowi was when he visited Bali on May 17-18. "He was very happy with the welcome of the Balinese people and various development advances in this area," Koster explained.
As a fellow PDI-P cadre, Koster was briefly involved in a casual chat with President Jokowi and Cabinet Secretary Minister Pramono Anung at dinner in Kuta.
The conversation interspersed with familiar jokes took place at the dining table while President Jokowi ate fried rice. "If you are not reminded by the aide, discussion can be until midnight," Koster said. " The President stated his commitment to improve infrastructure development in Bali and also strengthen the support of the central government to the Custom Village," he said.
Koster also appealed to all components of society to accept the results of the presidential election that had been determined by the KPU. "Jokowi's victory in the presidential election must be interpreted as a victory with all the people of Indonesia," he said.
Koster asked the public to promote the unity and integrity of the nation, the establishment of the Pancasila ideology, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Indonesia and the Unity in Diversity. "Elections have been completed, as many as 80% of the Indonesian people have exercised their right to vote, deciding their choices in building democracy in accordance with the values of the Pancasila values. We should respect the choices and decisions of the Indonesian people, "said Koster.
He reminded that the choice differences in the 2019 Concurrent Election should not make the nation split. "We must prioritize the interests and progress of the nation above all things, so that under Mr. Jokowi's leadership, this nation and country continue to move forward dynamically in entering global competition," he concluded.
