The Governor of Bali Wayan Koster: The Benefits of the G20 Presidency for Bali, Obtaining a Budget for Development of Facilities and Infrastructure of IDR 8,000 Billion More

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com – The Governor of Bali Wayan Koster emphasized that Bali received two benefits as the location for the G20 Presidency meeting which just took place on November 14 and 15 2022. Namely direct benefits and indirect benefits.

Governor Koster explained the direct benefits that Bali received, namely that Bali received infrastructure/facility development with a total budget of more than Rp. 800 billion from the State Budget, not only functioning to support the G20 Presidency Event, but also useful for improving the quality of Bali as a major world tourist destination.

Infrastructure development of facilities and infrastructure includes the construction of the New VVIP Building, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport; Arrangement of Mangrove Seeding, in Tahura; Construction of the Wantilan Temple of the Luhur Temple of Narmada Temple (where Heads of State transit); Building a Park in front of the Statue of I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Tuban; Arrangement and construction of facilities and infrastructure at Garuda Wisnu Kencana; Arrangement of the Bali Mandara Toll Road, with lamps filled with Balinese ornaments, greenery, solar panels, new toll gates with Balinese script; and Widening the road and arranging the padestrian route to the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, to the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Area, and to Mangrove Seeding, Tahura.

"Direct benefits for accelerating the recovery of tourism and the economy of Bali, after the COVID-19 pandemic. Direct benefits in the use of local Balinese products, such as: the use of IKM/UMKM handicraft products, among others, Balinese Endek Woven Cloth by Heads of State and Leaders of International Institutions, as well as souvenirs; Serving food at the hotel, using local Balinese agricultural products; and the appearance of Balinese culture, when welcoming State guests," Governor Wayan Koster explained, Friday ( November 18,  2022)

Governor Koster added, for indirect benefits, namely showing the richness, uniqueness and superiority of Balinese culture before the world community, further strengthening Bali's position as a major world tourist destination;

Further strengthening the trust of the world community, that Bali is able to manage international scale events comfortably, safely, peacefully and successfully, demonstrating the extraordinary hospitality of the Balinese people before the world community.
