Seven Traditional Canoe Race in Ulun Danu Beratan

Seven Traditional canoe follow fast race held at Lake Ulun Danu Beratan . Competition relating to Ulun Danu Beratan Culture and Art Festival was held on Wednesday ( 8/6 ).
Indeed there are 18 participants who followed the traditional canoe races . However, due to technical factors and readiness , for the first time held only 7 participants in the race . Seventh participants from Seka Teruna Teruni including STT Candi Kuning STT , STT Kembang Merta , STT Batusesa , STT Pemuteran , STT Bukit Catu, and STT Taman Tanda .
The race was very lively. Because the traditional canoe n equipped with various ornaments . Some are decorated swan-shaped , shaped dragon , crocodile , chicken and even there the shape of a house . These participants must follow the criteria of the race , which should be their costumes , paddling compactness , and the integrity of the ornaments in the course of the race .
Operational Manager DTW Ulun Danu Beratan , I Wayan Mustika , said the purpose held its traditional canoe race is to attract tourist who visit the Ulun Danu Beratan. Participants are given 30 minutes to paddle the canoe with the distance of 600 meters . Dewa Gede ( 18 ) one of the participants admitted to not pass special preparation . Because his friends were invited to the team everything was able to paddle . " There is no special preparation , as all are able to paddle , " he explained .
