Police evacuate three villagers of Maunggul sub village, Bajra Utara Village, Selemadeg District, Tabanan Regency due to being trapped in the Yeh Otan River Monday, June 26, 2017.
Chief of Police Sector Selemadeg, I Nyoman Sukanada, confirmed three villagers of Banjera Utara Village trapped in bunut trees while searching for crabs and shrimps for the completeness of the mass-cutting ceremony to be held on 28 June 2017.
He explained, on Monday, June 26, 2017 at around 3 pm four villagers went to Yeh Otan river. They intend to find fish type of crabs, shrimp for the purposes of cutting tools of mass tooth that will be held on June 28, 2017.
Arriving at the yeh otan river, the four villagers began to look for fish by electric shock, an hour later then suddenly unexpectedly came a very swift flood to almost make the four villagers. One of them that I Made Arya Wibawa managed to get to the banks of the river and save themselves.
While three villagers I Wayan Suadnyana (45), I Made Artawan (27), I Nyoman Agung Ariadi (16), managed to save themselves by way up the river island (mound of land in the middle of the river) to expect the current to shrink. But the water is getting bigger until it almost drowns the river island. Then the three villagers went up to the bunut tree to save themselves from the stream of yeh otan river. I Made Arya Wibawa who managed to save himself reached the mouth of the river and then informed the other residents. "The information is then submitted by our members in Bajera Utara village," Sukanada said. Because the current is very heavy finally the three villagers successfully evacuated by Team Sar Bali Regional Police. RRBNC
