Welcoming Chinese Tourists After the Pandemic, Vice  Governor of Bali Cok Ace Asks for Bali Tourism Arrangements 

DENPASAR, Balitopnews. com - Vice Governor of Bali Prof. Tjok. Oka Sukawati chaired the Preparatory Meeting for the Governance of Tourism Destinations for the Province of Bali with related OPDs and tourism stakeholders at the Praja Sabha Meeting Room, Governor's Office of Bali, Denpasar, Monday ( February 20, 2023).

 Starting the meeting that afternoon, the professor from ISI Denpasar said there were various issues, one of the most important being related to the arrival of Chinese tourists to Bali. According to him, Chinese tourists in quantity cannot be underestimated and have always been one of the highest numbers of tourists to Bali. "So we have to really prepare everything, from the regulatory point of view to other supports, so that the visit targets set by the Central and Regional Governments can be realized," he explained. Referring back to the situation before the Covid-19 Pandemic,  Cok Ace continued the most important issue concerning Chinese tourists in the past was the problem of "head buying and selling" of tourists carried out by a number of travel agents in China. Looking forward to the opening of the Chinese market in 2023, he said gathering stakeholders to solve the problem. "I heard that there were also many complaints, not only by our people but also by Chinese tourists themselves and even from the Chinese Consul General in Bali. Because it is also detrimental for tourists not being able to enjoy Bali properly," he added. 

To the relevant OPD in the Bali Provincial Government, he instructed them to take firm action if there are still practices like this in Bali. Most importantly, we must anticipate that this problem will not recur in Bali. "To tourism stakeholders, both HPI and ASITA, to help us report unwanted incidents in the field. So that collaboration between the government, the tourism sector and the community can accelerate this problem," he said. 

At the end of his address, Deputy Governor Cok Ace who is also a Professor at ISI Denpasar said that the Bali Provincial Government continues to want to make the island of Bali a quality tourism destination. So, according to him, improvements in various fields need to be done. "The Provincial Government of Bali is not only fixing infrastructure and tourism supporting facilities, but also fixing systems that are not in accordance with our cultured and quality tourism values, in accordance with the current vision and mission of the Province of Bali Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali," he sa'id

Also present at the occasion were Head of the Bali Tourism Office Tjok Bagus Pemayun, Head of the Bali Province Industry and Trade Office I Wayan Jarta, Head of the Bali Provincial Civil Service Police Unit Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi, as well as tourism actors from PHRI, HPI, ASITA, IHGM , BHA and the Bali Province Development Expert Group in the Tourism Sector.
