DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - Coinciding with the Tumpek Uye celebration on Saturday (Saniscara Kliwon Uye), May 18, 2024, the Bali Provincial Government held an activity entitled 'Bali Nice' by holding the Segara Kerthi Ceremony at the Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) Serangan Beach, Denpasar. Apart from the Segara Kerthi Ceremony, Bali Nice also features cultural performances and the release of animals into the wild. Bali Nice is a collaborative work of Regional Apparatus and related agencies within the Bali Provincial Government which is supported by the 10th WWF committee. Head of the Bali Province Culture Service, Prof. Dr. I Gede Arya Sugiartha in his statement, Friday (May  17, 2024) said that the Segara Kerthi Ceremony aims to ask for God's grace so that the sea is clean in a nutshell for the harmony of the ecosystem within it. According to him, this is relevant to the 2024 World Water Forum (WWF) event which will be held in Bali, 18-25 May 2024. This ritual is a form of Balinese respect for the existence of water which is the source of life. “This is a very big ceremony, performed by three sulinggih (Shiva, Buddha, Bujangga). "The ritual is also intended to ensure smooth implementation of WWF in Bali," he said.

Apart from taking part in the Segara Kerthi Ceremony, delegates were also able to watch cultural performances such as Gong Gede Gamelan Percussion, Penasar Mask, Sanghyang Jaran Dance, Sanghyang Dedari Dance, Baris Cerekuak Dance, Putri Maya's Rejang Dance and Sidakarya Mask. What's interesting, Sanghyang Jaran, Sanghyang Dedari will be accompanied by kecak. Putri Maya's Rejang Dance is also special because it is performed by 100 dancers. As a form of physical balance, Bali Nice will be filled with the release of animals into the wild, including 1,000 hatchlings, 1,000 birds and 5 turtles into the wild. In coordination with the World Water Forum committee, the Bali Provincial Government presented the 10th WWF delegation at Kura-Kura Bali and currently 1,700 participants have registered to take part in the Bali Nice event.

The Head of the Bali Culture and Culture Department added that the participants who attended at the same time gave witnesses to the Segara Kerthi ceremony and together prayed that WWF activities would run smoothly. In another part, Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjokorda Bagus Pemayun, added that local Balinese wisdom was also presented at the 10th WWF Bali Street Carnival, Monday (Soma Paing, Menail),  May 20, 2024 in the ITDC Nusa Dua area. The Bali Provincial Government presents art performances with a touch of technology. The Bali Street Carnival carries the theme "Samudra Cipta Peradaban", which means efforts to glorify the sea as a source of universal prosperity which is the origin of the birth of civilization.

A number of studios involved in the Bali Street Carnival are Bungan Dedari Karawitan Studio, Gianyar Paripurna Art Studio, Pancerlangit Art Studio, Kokar Bali Art Studio, Gumiart Art Studio and Gita Mahardika Studio. (Rls/Btnc)
