GIANYAR, Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster stressed that Bali will not reopen the tourism faucet especially for international tourist visits. Because, Bali is currently still focusing on efforts to accelerate the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, more recently, cases of local transmission are likely to increase.

The affirmation was conveyed by Wayan Koster when receiving a working visit from the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Wishnutama Kusubandio at Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant, Ubud, Gianyar, Wednesday (17 June 2020)

According to Koster, the Provincial Government of Bali still designs various protocol steps to deal with new life arrangements (new normal) including planning when and how to apply the protocol when the tourism sector is opened.

"Seeing the situation in Bali in general, according to the dynamic development of Covid - 19, it is still quite high in several regions in Bali, so in terms of health, I and the Team of the Task Force for the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration see and take Bali's attitude. feasible and not conducive to the application of health protocols in the context of the tourism sector. But we have prepared health protocol measures in case the tourism sector starts to open, "Koster said.

Accompanied by Vice Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati and Secretary of the Province of Bali Dewa Made Indra, Governor Koster conveyed about the planned stages of opening the Bali tourism sector. Among them, starting July 9, tourism will be opened specifically only for the movement of local Balini7jese in certain sectors. If the situation is conducive, then it will be continued in August for domestic tourists, and for international tourists the plan is to open from September

"Once again I emphasize, this is just square off, not a schedule that will definitely be implemented. So whether or not this is carried out will greatly depend on the situation and the dynamics of the development of Covid-19 in the field, especially local transmission in Bali. I strongly apply the precautionary principle regarding tourism, and the Minister also has the same view. Do not let the second wave occur, which of course will be very difficult to deal with, "explained Governor Koster to the media crew.

Currently the Bali Provincial Government and the Regency / City Government of Bali according to Governor Koster are committed to focus on handling the spread of the pandemic until the situation is declared to be absolutely conducive without any further spread of local transmission. "One of the most important things that we must and must do right now is how we create a truly conducive, safe Bali situation from Covid-19. And it really depends on the discipline of the community in the forefront of this pandemic prevention protocol.

The perpetrators of disciplined tourism services, disciplined people, we need to be disciplined together, we need joint efforts, so that Bali can be conducive quickly, and the government has prepared its arrangements, "Koster explained.

On the other hand, Bali Police Chief  Petrus R. Golose stated his support for all programs launched by the central and regional governments. "We are ready to secure the implementation of programs implemented by the central and regional government," he said. (Gix)
