The Acting Governor of Bali Encourages Innovation and Digitalization to Boost Regional Income

DENPASAR, Balitopnews - The  Acting  Governor of Bali S.M. Mahendra Jaya encouraged the ranks of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Bali Province to continue to innovate to explore other sources of income besides motor vehicle tax for Regional Original Income (PAD). “I am certainly grateful for the hard work of my friends for the extraordinary achievements so far. Because thanks to this extraordinary achievement, we are even more optimistic in 2024," The Acting Governor of Bali said when visiting the Bali Bapenda Office, Denpasar on Thursday (February 1, 2024) afternoon.

According to Mahendra Jaya, innovation is very necessary so that the provincial government does not depend on motorized vehicles alone considering that there is a road map that shows Bali has big plans towards 2045 with zero emissions,  from fossil fuels. "Of course there will be a massive reduction in motorized vehicles using fossil fuels, this certainly requires taking steps. "We need to think together about what it will be like," Mahendra Jaya said.

According to him, periodic control also needs to be carried out regarding regional revenues so that it is easier to carry out evaluations if there is a decline in performance and income targets. Including increasingly prioritizing digitalization as a service base that makes it easier for people to carry out their obligations to pay taxes. "So try not to relax, so that your friends' spirits are well maintained throughout the year," Mahendra Jaya said.

Meanwhile, the Head of The Bapenda Bali Province  I Made Santha, stated that in accordance with the direction of The Acting governor of Bali continues to prioritize service transformation towards digitalization. "Gradually, we are switching everything to digital," he said.
Santha mentioned a number of innovations that have been running, such as the Samsat Ibu Jari program which makes it easier for taxpayers to manage vehicle tax payments from personal gadgets, online Samsat to mobile Samsat. "The billing system is also integrated, supported by a door to door billing pattern and partnering with BUMDES and LPD and cooperatives to get closer to the community," he added. The Acting Governor Mahendra Jaya on this occasion also checked a number of facilities at the Bali Bapenda Office and the Denpasar Samsat UPT which are in the same area. The Acting Governor  of Bali appeared to interact directly to find out the work flow and time needed to arrange motor vehicle tax payments and other supporting facilities for the community.
