The Acting  Governor of Bali Confirms that Bali is Ready to Hold and Succeed in The General Election 2024

 

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Acting  Governor of Bali, S.M.Mahendra Jaya emphasized Bali's readiness to hold and successfully organize the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) grand event. This was conveyed by The Acting. Governor of Bali in a Coordination Meeting with Forkopimda Staff, in the Gajah Building Meeting Room, Jayasabha, Denpasar, Monday ( February 5, 2024)

Furthermore, The Acting Governor of Bali Mahendra Jaya expressed his appreciation for the hard work and synergy of all Forkopimda levels in preparing for the implementation of this five-yearly grand celebration, both in terms of logistics, voter data, security and anticipating potential vulnerabilities so that he is confident that Bali is very ready to hold elections which will be held simultaneously on next February 14th. "I express my thanks and appreciation for the hard work and cooperation of all Forkopimda levels so that Bali is ready to welcome the elections. I hope that with all the efforts we have made together, the elections in Bali will be successful, safe and smooth in accordance with the applicable regulations. ” he added.

Acting The Governor of Bali also added that even though the current situation in Bali is conducive, we still have to be aware of various problems that could arise due to increasing political escalation, the price situation for basic necessities ahead of Chinese New Year, Galungan Kuningan, Nyepi and the fasting month and the threat of natural disasters and threat of disruption to social security. For this reason, synergy must continue to be strengthened, supervision carried out consistently so that there are no gaps for violations and conflicts. "We must also build public awareness of exercising their right to vote by coming to the polling stations so that voter participation increases and conflicts do not occur that could threaten unity," he said.

The same thing was also conveyed by Pangdam IX/Udayana, Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc. where the successful and smooth implementation of the 2024 Election is our shared duty and responsibility. In general, the current conducive situation in Bali is expected to continue in the future so that the elections run safely and smoothly. In carrying out election security duties, his party has coordinated with the police and alerted around 3,401 personnel.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bali General Election Commission (KPU), I Dewa Agung Gede Lidartawan, said that there were 3,269,516 registered voters who had the right to vote throughout Bali, consisting of 1,617,276 male voters and 1,652,240 female voters. There are 12,809 polling stations (TPS) spread across 9 districts/cities, 57 sub-districts and 716 villages.

He added that his party continuously carries out preparations and supervision regarding voter lists, logistics and anticipating potential digital vulnerabilities as well as anticipating fraud in election participants. He also hopes that the voter participation rate will increase this year according to the target of 83%. For this reason, he asked for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders to continue to carry out outreach and build public awareness to come to the polling stations on February 14, 2024 to exercise their right to vote.
