Bali Provincial Government Supports Aerospace Ecosystem Development in Bali

DENPASAR, Balitopnews.com - The Bali Provincial Government welcomes the initiative of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and PT. Dirgantara Indonesia to develop the aerospace industry by utilizing Lt. Col. Wisnu Airport through collaboration with the Bali Provincial Government and the Buleleng Regency Government. This was conveyed by the Acting Governor of Bali, S.M. Mahendra Jaya while attending the signing of a joint agreement between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Bali Provincial Government, the Buleleng Regency Government and PT. Dirgantara Indonesia regarding the development of the aerospace industry ecosystem in Bali Province in order to support the Kerthi Bali Economic Transformation at the Wiswa Sabha Utama, Bali Governor's Office on Friday ( February 16, 2024) afternoon.

He said that the development of the aerospace ecosystem in Bali would have a very good impact on the development of the Balinese economy, especially in the North Bali Region. "This transformation will open up employment opportunities in the aerospace industry for local communities as well as utilization and development of other resources because the activities of Lt. Col. Vishnu Airport become much larger and involve many parties," Mahendra said.

The development of Lt. Col. Wisnu Airport is the first milestone for aerospace development in Bali Province. Apart from developing aerospace human resources, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) will also be developed as well as the development of marine tourism and inter-island connectivity.

As is known, one of the main problems in Bali's development is related to equality. Bali tourism is only concentrated in South Bali, which results in an economic gap between North Bali and South Bali. Meanwhile, the Bali Provincial Government continues to strive to encourage increased development in the North Bali, East Bali and West Bali regions by exploring and exploiting the potential available in these regions. So it is hoped that the development of the aerospace ecosystem at Lt. Col. Wisnu Airport can become a lever for economic and business activity in Northern Bali.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said that the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas had launched a Master Plan for developing the Indonesian aerospace industrial system for 2023-2045 with the vision of building a strong and competitive aerospace industry towards a Golden Indonesia in 2045. She explained that Indonesia's current aerospace development is not only in the aerospace industry but also in other aerospace industry ecosystems, including education and training, research, engineering and design, institutional governance and regulations and aerospace infrastructure.
