Bali Regional Secretary Dewa Indra Invites Delegates to Enjoy the Beauty of the Island of Bali

BADUNG, Balitopnews.com - The positive vibrations of Seribu Pura Island have once again made Bali the host of the ASIA PACIFIC Congress of Ophthalmologists or The 39th Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress which will be held on 22-25 February 2024. Bali Province Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra invited the Congress delegates who were representatives of doctors from ASIA PACIFIC member countries to enjoy the natural beauty, art, culture of the island of Bali as well as various culinary delights and Balinese MSME products. This was conveyed by Regional Secretary Dewa Indra at the opening of the 39th Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress at BNDCC-Nusa Dua, Thursday (February 22, 2024)

Added in his speech, Dewa Indra hoped that the congress could produce results such as new innovations that could be implemented future field of ophthalmology. "We are sure that the vibrancy of the Balinese spirit will inspire you to focus and contribute to the good progress of ophthalmology in the future. I also hope that the delegates can take the time to enjoy tourist attractions, local food, culture and performances so that they will make memories in Bali," he concluded.
The Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said that it was an honor for Indonesia, especially Bali, to be trusted again to host the APAO Congress. It is hoped that the congress will make a positive contribution to the development of ophthalmological science in Indonesia, especially as Indonesia is currently very aggressive in optimizing eye treatment, especially in remote areas, therefore, community health centers in villages are expected to have adequate technology for detecting various kinds of diseases, especially eye.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the 2024 APAO Congress, Muhamad Sidik, said that the 39th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), which was held in conjunction with the 49th PERDAMI, or Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Ophthalmology Association (IOA), in Bali was attended by 80 countries from Asia Pacific. “We are very honored that Bali has once again (after 2009) been chosen to host the prestigious annual APAO congress, which has now become a leading ophthalmic professional and scientific event, with this year's theme “Beyond All Limits” – with the same goal "clearly to prepare today's ophthalmic practitioners for the ever-evolving future of eye care," he said.

For this reason, it is hoped that the 2024 APAO Congress will be one of the most interesting and enjoyable meetings because it broadens scientific horizons and of course fosters cooperation between countries. This congress will certainly increase knowledge across the entire spectrum of ophthalmology. President of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Prof. Ava Hosain said that the 2024 APAO Congress in Bali brings together ophthalmologists from all over the world, and presents around 800 internationally recognized speakers who will present their latest work and scientific innovations in the main subspecialties of the eye. It is estimated that around 5,000 delegates have been confirmed to attend so far.

Apart from gaining new knowledge and skills, this annual congress also provides an excellent opportunity for delegates to build networks and collaborate with colleagues and friends. Participants can also enjoy beautiful and historical attractions, as well as delicious culinary delights and exciting nightlife in Bali.
