The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, stressed that if Bali and its tourism want to continue, they must interpret and safeguard Bali as an 'Island of God'. "What attracts tourists to come to Bali for a long time? It is culture, civilization, art, customs and local wisdom so that it is called 'Island of God'. It is a niskala (noetic) element that distinguishes us from other regions. That must be maintained so that we survive, " Governor Koster said.

The statement was confirmed by Koster, in an event entitled 'Walk the Talk with the Governor of Bali: Sinergy and Harmony Under Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali' which was held at Harris Hotel, Sunset Road Kuta, Badung Regency Thursday (April 11, 2019).

"Taksu (aura) of Bali is now declining, so the local wisdom too, nature, humanity. If left unchecked Bali will not be attractive to tourists. For that, it must be arranged in total, managed seriously," he said.

In front of thousands of Bali tourism actors, Koster revealed the importance of delivering the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali especially the tourism sector became one of the priority sectors. "In the future, Bali tourism will continue to be built and laid out. The tourism actors must continue to be communicated about regulations, programs, regulations, so that everything goes according to expectations," Koster explained.

The Governor from Sembiran, Buleleng Regency also said that tourism actors are an important pillar in the course of various tourism-related programs. "All of you are the main actors in the field, who carry out, who are directly affected by the policies implemented," he said.

Koster also stated that tourism actors also play a big role for Bali in order to obtain maximum benefits from the progress of tourism. "In the future, besides supporting its growth, tourism must also be based on culture as well as in good governance," said Koster.  "The allocation for promotions that will be increased is much higher," he added.

According to Koster, the good and bad of Bali tourism has an impact on Bali's economic sector and other sectors also. "For example, agriculture and the industrial sector, all of them must be synergistic and mutually supportive, not running independently," he said.

Therefore, the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives stressed that the regional government as a regulator is committed to making policies for the advancement of tourism, as well as strict regulations for those who violate. "We have proven it when we take action against illegal companies operating in Bali, which can lead to unhealthy tourism," Koster said.

In addition, Governor Koster also explained various additional facilities that will be built such as the convention center, large capacity arts buildings to thematic museums. "And of course supporting infrastructure, short cut roads and even railroads," he explained.

On the same occasion Deputy Governor of Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Cok Ace) in line with the Governor of the current period was the time for the Bali provincial government to implement the vision and mission that had been delivered, including to strengthen tourism. "Other examples, regulations about plastic waste, traditional villages and others. Tourism actors must know what has been and is being done," he said.

Meanwhile, committee chairman Gusti Agung Ngurah Surya Wijaya said, the big goal of the event was to bring more than 1500 participants to the synergy of local governments and tourism stakeholders. "Local governments are an important pillar of tourism development, this event is also for joint evaluation, position and condition of Bali as a tourism destination," he concluded.
