DENPASAR,Balitopnews.com - Governor of Bali Wayan Koster said that until April 27, 2022, the number of international flights to Bali had increased to 269 aircraft (an increase of 118% compared to March), with a total of 58,630 foreign tourist passengers (a drastic increase of 240% compared to last month). March), with an average of 2,171 people per day (a drastic increase of 277% compared to March).

 

This was explained by Governor of Bali Wayan Koster when welcoming the arrival of Pelita Air's inaugural flight at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Thursday (April 28,2022).

 

Koster added that the number of international flights to Bali from March 1 to March 30, 2022 reached 123 aircraft, with a total of 17,250 foreign tourist passengers, with an average of 575 people per day.


 

"Meanwhile, the number of domestic flights to Bali from March 1 to March 30 was 2,188 aircraft, with a total of 276,619 passengers, an average of 9,220 people per day. However, the number of domestic flights to Bali on April 1 to 27, 2022 decreased to 1,669 aircraft, with a total of 194,910 passengers, an average of 7,218 people per day, " Governor of Bali Wayan Koster.explained.

 

 According to him, the decline in domestic passengers to Bali was due to the ongoing fasting worship. Related, the development of Covid-19 in Bali has continued to improve, the number of new cases has decreased consistently and steadily at a low double-digit number, between 18 to 30 people per day. On April 27, 2022, there were 22 new cases, 17 recovered, and no deaths. Even though the no-quarantine policy has been in effect since March 7, 2022, there have been no new cases added, and even new cases tend to decrease.

"Currently, there is momentum for the recovery of Bali tourism, because since March 7, 2022 a new policy has been implemented for foreign tourists, namely no quarantine and Visa on Arrival (VoA) facilities for 43 countries," Governor Koster said. 

 

According to him, to date, there are 11 airlines serving international flights to Bali, and there will be more flights by Emirates Airlines, on May 1, 2022.

 

President Director of PT. Pelita Air Service Dendy Kurniawan, who took part in the inagura flight from Jakarta to Bali, expressed his gratitude for the successful landing of the first Pelita Air commercial flight in Bali. He also hopes that the flight can continue with more intense connecting flights.
