Governor of Bali As read by Regional Secretary Dewa Indra, The Acting Governor of Bali said that Bali Language Month is one of the Bali Provincial Government's commitments in preserving Balinese Language, Literature and Script. "We should know that the Bali Provincial Government and all Balinese people have the same desire to preserve Balinese language, literature and script, so that the Balinese language we love can become more grounded and become a means of communication at the family, village and other levels," he said.
He also hopes that the implementation of Balinese Language Month can be held simultaneously at the traditional village level, service villages and educational institutions from PAUD to universities. "So that the Balinese language can really infiltrate and be used by the Balinese people," he added.
Moreover, he added, in this global development, many regional languages have become unused or become extinct. For example, in Indonesia itself there are around 718 regional languages, and 11 of them are no longer used. This was also confirmed by UNESCO's statement in 2018 which said that many mother tongues had become extinct. For this reason, the UN agency designated February 21 as International Mother Language Day, and the implementation of Balinese Language Month in February is also in line with the commemoration of International Mother Language Day. "So, it is fitting for us as Balinese language owners to continue to use Balinese for daily communication. If the Balinese people unite in implementing this, and moreover have the same spirit of preserving it, I am sure that the Balinese language will continue to exist. "Let's preserve Balinese language, literature and script," he concluded.

Just like the previous implementation, Bali Language Month VI will also be held for one month, from February 1 to March 2 2024.
